Routing
How a model gets chosen
- Autopilot default
- One strong model per mission: the first of Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5, GPT-5.6 Sol your Mac can run.
- You name it
- A model you name in an objective always wins. If it cannot run, Winskel stops and says so instead of swapping in another.
- Preferences and Custom
- Your implementation and reviewer models, models per kind of work, and models to avoid narrow or replace the default.
- Escalation
- A step whose checks fail gets one repair turn on the same model, then moves once to the first available model in the last column of the table. If none is available, the step stops as Failed. A step you assigned to one agent system escalates only within it.
Availability
Availability on your Mac
A model is eligible only when three things agree: Winskel supports it, your installed Claude Code or Codex reports it can run it, and your provider account allows it. Your Mac can show a smaller set than this page.
Winskel detects and shows every supported model. On Free, up to 3 of them are active in your routing pool at one time; Pro has no pool limit.
Claude Code or Codex?
Winskel does not publish a ranking or benchmark of these models. It records which model ran each mission and why, so you can judge the fit on your own work.
Not supported as workers
Winskel does not currently support Cursor, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, OpenCode as workers.
