Winskel is now in Beta

Winskel moves from Alpha to Beta on macOS. Signing in still needs an invitation. Winskel decides by default, and your explicit constraints always win.

What changed

Winskel is now a macOS Beta. It is free during Beta, the download is on winskel.com, and signing in with Google needs a Beta invitation. There is no public sign-up yet.

The product is organized around one principle: Winskel decides by default, and you can constrain, override, or eventually define the decision yourself.

Available now

  • Autopilot, the default: give one objective and nothing else, and Winskel makes the orchestration decisions itself. Most objectives run on one strong model; Winskel plans separate steps, parallel work, or a review when the work warrants it, and whenever you ask.
  • Name a model or an agent system in the objective, such as "Use Codex for the tests". Winskel uses it and never swaps in another. If it cannot run it, nothing starts and Winskel says why.
  • The default model you choose during setup.
  • A record of each routing decision: the model and a one-line reason, whether the work finished, the checks Winskel observed, any move to a stronger model, and your Approve or Request changes.

In development

  • Allowed model pools, models to never use, preferred models by kind of work, and a quality, speed, or cost preference.
  • Custom orchestration: define or paste the workflow you trust, and Winskel runs and supervises it.
  • Per-repository rules.
  • Rating routing choices, and routing that uses your own recorded outcomes. Today the routing record explains decisions; it does not change them.

Limits

  • Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 12 or later. The build is not notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to approve the first launch.
  • Claude Code is required; Codex is optional. Provider plans and limits stay with each provider.
  • Some screens in the app still say Alpha; they belong to the same Beta build.
