# Supported models

> A model is eligible only when Winskel, the installed provider tool, and your account all agree.

- Canonical page: https://www.winskel.com/docs/supported-models
- Applies to: Winskel public download 0.7.0-alpha.1 (alpha channel), Apple Silicon, macOS 12 or later
- Content updated: 2026-10-06

## Providers

- Claude Code (required)
- Codex (optional)

## The model registry

The full list of supported Claude Code and Codex models, with their model ids and escalation order, is on the [Supported models page](https://www.winskel.com/models).

## Which models Winskel picks

By default Winskel routes work to Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5, or GPT-5.6 Sol. A step that fails its checks can move to a stronger model, including GPT-6 Astra after GPT-5.6 Sol. The other models run when you name them, or for an independent review.

## Availability on your Mac

Winskel must support the model, the installed Claude Code or Codex must report that it can run it, and your provider account must allow it. Your Mac can therefore show a smaller eligible set than the lists above.

## Not currently presented as workers

Winskel does not currently advertise Cursor, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, or OpenCode as supported workers.
